The event “Beyond the Game: Finance, Data, and Artificial Intelligence,” organized by The Smart Institute in Milan, explored the potential of sports trading as a new uncorrelated asset class for investment portfolios.
During the panel, moderated by Laura Lamarra, Davide Renna (CEO of Sport Trading Life) illustrated how this discipline enables profit generation through the buying and selling of odds on sporting events, moving away from the binary concept of betting to treat it with mathematical rigor and risk management. Artificial intelligence was identified as the key factor for the industry’s industrial evolution, acting both in identifying opportunities on a large scale and in modeling defense strategies during periods of volatility.
While AI is considered a tool to amplify human capabilities rather than a replacement, the integration of data and sentiment analysis promises to make sports trading a solid alternative for wealth diversification, aiming for future regulation and greater financial education in the market.
